The Surrey Space Centre (SSC) is housed within the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Surrey. It is a world leading research centre in space systems and small satellite engineering, comprising some 90 researchers involved in multidisciplinary research in space engineering and space applications. It works closely with its spin-out company, Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd., and has participated in more than 30 space missions over the last 33 years. SSC has particular expertise on the space radiation environment and its effects on space systems through over 20 years of in-orbit observation and experimentation.
